Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty sat upon a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
Threescore men, then threescore more, can not place Humpty as I was before.

Place me as I was before, as I was before, was before.

Pieces of me scattered throughout the land. Pray tell, what sordid tidbit is this I hold? Do I stuff it back in its proper place? Does it later become entitled I?

Who is this "I"?

Inauthentic barbarian, casting shadows upon a peaceful respite in the sun! I am Sun, how are you brother Moon, sister Gaia? What dull ashen pallor this impostor doth offer thee. Angst, carried in a wet linen sack, spills melodically upon thy shoe. Drip, drip, drip, dancing to this tune, I wail for scales of justice to tip. Wait! In whose favour shall mother justice lean? What sense of reason, truth, or love is meant to pour from her bent chalice? Wicked is this beverage, playing itself as wine, tasting of acetum.

Drunken, spent, sated with fear.

Swirling, cream cuddles into a cup of illusion, darkness embraces the light. Haunted by memories of glory unknown, splendor denied. Doeth this specter follow in the night as charm or curse? Apparitions of the true self, keeping pace as this mortal coil unfolds.

Quietly she treads, nary a trace be discerned. Skillfully woven veils of deceit keep her hidden from my brethren. Silken lies touch us daily, torment inflicted, fear rampant, opportunity lost! Whence we see no red, we assume no injury has befallen us. How then do we account for these hardened scars?

Masses cry I cannot see! She is coveted by scant few, known to a pittance, in sacred commune with none. Standing radiantly, a wallflower in wait, her card unblemished, wisdom untapped, love unbridled.  Holding my hand, she whispers the truth.

 "Folly lies grievously with desire."

"Brilliance is a choice, not a reward."

Take this balm brethren, be brave as you walk in darkness.

In Lak' ech, tomorrow is ours....
